Mercedes- Benz GLB

Mercedes-Benz GLB, the seven-seat SUV is expected to be introduced in the Indian market and will be positioned between the GLA and the GLC. The third row of seating is likely to be optional. In terms of dimensions, the Mercedes-Benz GLB measures 4,634mm in length, 1,834mm in width and 1,658mm in height and has a wheelbase of 2,829mm. With the third-row seats, the SUV will barely offer any boot space. With the third row down, it offers 560-litres of boot space. The SUV will get familiar interior elements in the form of all-new MBUX dual-screen system, turbine-like air-con vents and more. The estimated price is Rs. 40 lakhs.

Mechanically, the Mercedes-Benz GLB is expected to be offered with two four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engines – a 1.3-litre that produces 161bhp (GLB 200), a 2.0-litre that generates 218bhp (GLB 250). The diesel version is expected to get a 2.0-litre engine which will be available in either 148bhp (GLB 200d) or 188bhp (GLB 220d) guise. All except the base GLB 200 which gets the old 7G-DCT, the rest will use Mercedes’ new eight-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. The model might also offer a 4Matic all-wheel drive option.

The fifth-generation Honda City is expected to be launched in India by this year. It adopts design themes introduced by cars like the Civic and the Amaze and adorn them over a larger body. Honda may add a mild-hybrid system to the petrol engine to comply with the norms better, while a diesel-CVT combination may be added to cater to those looking for efficiency and convenience in a single package.

BMW 8 Series

The BMW 8 Series is the spiritual successor to the 6 Series. The model is currently offered in four variants for the global market including the 8 Series Coupe, 8 Series Cabriolet (Convertible), 8 Series Gran-Coupe and the M8. The estimated price is Rs. 1 crore.

The BMW 8 Series is manufactured at the company’s plant in Dingolfing, Gemany. The model is based on the CLAR architecture platform and uses lightweight construction, a process that involves a mix of various materials such as steel, aluminium, plastic and carbon-fibre in the body-shell.

Internationally, the BMW 8 Series is available with two engine options including a 4.4-litre, eight-cylinder petrol unit and a 3.0-litre, six-cylinder diesel unit. The former is tuned to produce 530bhp and 680 Nm of torque while the latter produces 320bhp and 680 Nm of torque. Both the engines are paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission as standard.

Keep your body in a straight line from head to toe without sagging in the middle or arching your back. Inhale as you slowly bend your elbows and lower yourself until your elbows are at a 90-degree angle.

Exhale as you begin contracting your chest muscles and pushing back up through your hands to the start position. Don’t lock out your elbows, keep them slightly bent.

If you’ve ever knelt down to tie your shoe or seen someone propose on a bended knee, you’re familiar with the lunge. A lunge is a single-leg bodyweight exercise that works your hips, glutes, quads, hamstrings, and core and the hard-to-reach muscles of your inner thighs. Lunges can help you develop lower-body strength and endurance.

Stand with feet shoulder width apart. engage your core. Place your hand on your hips. Take one giant step forward with the right leg. Make sure the knee does not go too far forward, that is, past your toes. The left knee will go down to almost floor level. Alternate the legs as you go on. Try to do a set of between 8 and 12 reps for each leg. It is important to allow for a day of rest, so this exercise should be done on alternate days.

Jumping Jacks

 This exercise targets the whole body. Jumping jacks are the best cardio exercises. There are various benefits of including it in your everyday exercise program. It makes your heart stronger, builds muscles stronger, helps in weight loss, builds stronger bones and uplift your mood instantly and helps relieve stress.

Stand straight with your feet together and hands on your sides. Jump along with raising your arms above your head and bring your feet apart. Reverse the movement immediately and come back to the original position. Start doing it faster.

Crunches

The crunch is a classic core exercise. It specifically trains your abdominal muscles, which are part of your core. Crunches exclusively work the abs. This is helpful if you’re trying to get a six-pack.

Lie down on your back. Plant your feet on the floor, hip-width apart. Bend your knees and place your arms across your chest. Contract your abs and inhale. Exhale and lift your upper body, keeping your head and neck relaxed. Inhale and return to the starting position.

Extraction

Probably the most-awaited film among all the new shows and movies on Netflix is Extraction. It is an upcoming American action thriller film directed by Sam Hargrave and screenplay by Joe Russo. Promises all the action you’ve been missing. Featuring Chris Hemsworth and Randeep Hooda, this series tells the story of a fearless black market mercenary with nothing left to lose. His life takes a turn when his skills are solicited to rescue the kidnapped son of an imprisoned international crime lord. This original film has been shot in Bangladesh and India for the most part and is co-produced by Russo Brothers of Avengers fame. It also features David Harbour (of Stranger Things fame) and Manoj Bajpayee in pivotal roles.

Panchyat

The Viral Fever aka TVF is once again joining hands with Amazon Prime Video for yet another web series featuring Jitendra Kumar, Neena Gupta and Raghubir Yadav. Titled Panchayat, a comedy-drama which revolves around an engineering graduate Abhishek, who for lack of a better job option, becomes a secretary to a Panchayat office located in one of Uttar Pradesh’s remote villages. Panchayat is a must-watch for those who enjoy India stories. Jitendra is a brilliant actor and TVF content always has very strong storylines. And so, Panchayat is a great addition to all the new shows and movies on Amazon Prime Video.

Never have I Ever

Mindy Kaling has ruled the romantic-comedy TV landscape lately, with her acclaimed Four Weddings and a Funeral reboot, which followed her fun but uneven comedy series The Mindy Project. All of us love and adore Indian-origin actress Mindy Kaling. But now she’s tackling girlhood, and all the ups and downs that come with it, in the Netflix comedy series Never Have I Ever. And if you are somebody who loves Kelly Kapoor from The Office, you cannot miss out on this series.Also, because it is inspired by her own childhood, where Mindy was a first generation Indian-American teenager. It’s a coming-of-age comedy and should not be missed. It is a 10-episode series will follow the trials and tribulations of a first-generation Indian American teenage girl.

Tales from the loop

A brand new original is releasing on Amazon Prime Video later this week. In this Sci-Fi series, the townspeople live above a machine called ‘The Loop’, which is built to unlock all the secrets of the universe. The trailer of this series will make you at least want to check out the first episode and soon enough, you will be hooked. The series, an anthology, takes place in a small town that’s home to a mega-machine whose purpose remains unclear. Tales from the Loop is maybe best understood as visual art, rather than a conventional narrative.

Mrs America

With its echoes of a beauty pageant and a far-distant culture, the title Mrs America perfectly captures the retro setting of this smart, colorful series about the 1970s battle to add the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA) to the US Constitution. That amendment, which simply states that women cannot be deprived of rights on the basis of sex, was brought down almost singlehandedly by Phyllis Schlafly, played by Cate Blanchett. The hotstar series explores how one of the toughest battlegrounds in the culture wars of the 70s helped gave rise to the moral majority and forever shifted the political landscape. Each of its nine episodes feature several moments that try, with palpable urgency, to make its audience feel some pang of recognition, resentment, regret at how history hasn’t just shaken out, but repeated.

Money Heist: The Phenomenon

If you’re interested in learning more about Money Heist, a Netflix original series from Spain that tells the story of a team of thieves then you’ll want to check out this movie, which gives insight into the production of this cult fave. A documentary on how and why ‘Money Heist’ sparked a wave of enthusiasm around the world for a lovable group of thieves and their professor spills true stories from behind-the-scenes and it will keep you glued to your screens.

Phones to watch out for in 2020!

The much awaited OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro have officially been launched, the pro version being a flagship model. The two phones are follow ups to the successful OnePlus 7T and OnePlus 7T Pro. The two phones launched, feature 5G support and come with hole-punch display design, much like the Samsung flagship models and moving on from their pop up front cameras. Removing the pop camera also allows the manufacturers to get the IP68 dust and water resistant rating, that’s something the previous One Plus phones have lacked compared to other top manufacturers.  The OnePlus 8-series phones also have up to 12GB of RAM and the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC. OnePlus 8 Pro features a quad rear camera setup, while the OnePlus 8 has triple rear cameras, that’s one of the major difference between the pro and regular version. The Pro version is priced at $899 for 8GB RAM and 128GB storage option, whereas its 12GB RAM + 256GB storage model will cost $999. The process for Indian Market are yet to be confirmed. The phones are launching in 3 colors,  Glacial Green, Onyx Black and Ultramarine Blue (only for 12GB + 256GB)!

Google is coming with Pixel 4a to appeal to those on a tighter budget, along with a punch hole front camera, 3.5mm headphone socket and a single camera on the back. We’re expecting to see it launch around May 2020. Google Pixel 4A smartphone price in India is likely to be Rs 39,999. As for the color options, the Google Pixel 4A smartphone may come in Black, White colors. There’s a debate over whether there will be a Pixel 4a and a Pixel 4a XL.

Huawei Mate X (Folding Phone)

Huawei has already showcased the Mate X and apart from Samsung Galaxy Fold, it is the only new folding phone that is going to be available soon in the market. When the displays are not folded it becomes an 8 Inch single panel. The Mate uses the Kirin 980 processor with the new Balong 5000 5G modem, plus a quad 5G antenna inside. Huawei boasted about testing its 5G modem on live 5G networks, and said it has twice the performance of Qualcomm’s old X50 chip. It comes with a 4500 mAH capacity battery and has a 55 Watts charger which can charge it up to 85% in just 30 minutes.

The HUAWEI Mate X is engineered to be impressively thin with the Falcon Wing design. This unprecedented stretchable hinge is artistically crafted to dissolve into the device for a smooth and flat finish on both sides of the device. The firm and durable design ensures the screen will not over stretch while folding or bulge in unfolding.

Apple iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 PRO Max

Similar to 2019, in 2020, Apple will launch 3 new iPhones – iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 PRO Max. As per reports, Apple can launch the iPhone 12 with three screen sizes – 5.46 Inch, 6.1 Inch, and 6.7 Inch. Another rumor suggests Apple can launch a fourth iPhone this year and may call it as iPhone 12 Max. The two non-Pro models will be affordable while the Pro models will be more expensive. The new iPhones are launched in September every year and we can expect the iPhone 12 series to launch around 10th September 2020.

5G – All the iPhone models can have support for 5G technology as Qualcomm has already announced that the Snapdragon 865 based phones will have 5G.

Display and Design – The new iPhones are expected to come with a completely new design that may not have a notch or at least with a smaller notch. The notch was introduced with the iPhone X and it will be three years since the company introduced the concept. Also, another big upgrade is 120 Hz display for the Pro models and Apple may use thinner OLED panels made by Samsung for the iPhones. What’s more, there are some pointers hinting at an in-display fingerprint scanner or the in-display camera that we have seen on some of the prototypes from Oppo and Xiaomi.
